Rye Hill Church Family,
God greatly blessed us in a great way at Rye Hill Baptist Church yesterday, considering the many that were out because of contract tracing due to COVID-19. Please continue to pray for the four youth and two adults affected by the recent upswing in cases in Arkansas. We had 189 in Sunday School and 301 in worship. God gave us another addition with a sweet young lady joining our church. That makes eleven additions in the last three weeks! Praise the Lord! The Praise and Worship Team was outstanding; and Phil Newcom did another super job singing about the cross. Our preaching in Acts is coming to a close in the next two months. I hope you have enjoyed the teaching as much as I have the preparation to preach.
We had another wonderful Body Life Meeting with the church approval to purchase 1.7 acres of land north of our Worship Center that will probably be used for parking. We are also meeting with two experts from the Baptist Building Consultants in Little Rock to seek advice on a new educational building in our five year plan from the Long Range Planning Committee. We will not build anything until we pay off our current debt. We also voted to allow two groups of people to use our Chapel area for a Bible Study and a missions class called “Perspectives.” It is great to see our church becoming more “community-minded.” Paul Walker did another outstanding job with his Bible Study after the Body Life Meeting. His wisdom and experience are such a blessing to have in our church!
Widows and Widowers–don’t forget our luncheon tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11:00 a.m. in the Family Life Center. Mary and our kitchen crew will have another great meal prepared for you.
This Saturday, July 31, Herschel and Linda Rye will be having a 60th Anniversary Reception at our church from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. They have asked that there be no gifts please. Cards and prayers are welcomed.
Our Women’s Ministry will host a fellowship on Tuesday, August 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. A sign-up sheet is in the breezeway.
Brother Scott wants to remind you of our Missions and Outreach Ministry on Saturday, August 7, at the Farmers Market at Chaffee Crossing. Last month, we had a wonderful group help us at our booth; and we saw one profession of faith. Sign-up sheet for available times to help is in the breezeway.
We have just two Sundays left for our Baby Bottle Campaign, which helps the Heart to Heart Pregnancy and Family Care Center. We have a few empty bottles left in the church foyer. Please have your bottles filled with coins, cash or a check turned in by Sunday, August 8. We appreciate everyone who has supported this awesome ministry.
All of our new members are encouraged to get their pictures taken on Sunday, August 8, for our On-Line Directory. For contact information, please call Sherry Keener at 883-2620.
We will also begin our second class taught by Brother Steve during our Sunday School hour on August 8. All new members can learn more about our church and its ministries in this four-week course. Everyone that attended the first class said how helpful it was taking the Spiritual Gift Questionnaire and learning all that we have to offer at RHBC.
Don’t forget our Wednesday night adult Bible study and prayer meeting at 6:30 p.m. Brother Steve did a super job teaching on “Prayers That Matter.” We are looking forward to hearing him again this Wednesday night. Our Youth and Children’s Discipleship Program will be in full swing again this week.
Have a great week, and please be careful out there. The extreme heat and dog days of summer are here in a huge way. Call us if we can help you or if you have a prayer request. I love each and every one of you and especially appreciate your prayers.
