SUNDAY SCHOOL: We still call it Sunday School because, over the years it has been the most effective way to study God’s Holy Word together. We offer age-relevant Sunday School classes as well as a few non age-specific classes. students are provided with a relaxed atmosphere for learning and studying the bible. Many friendships are developed in these small group settings. Classes often take on special projects as well as having fellowships in homes and other locations. You will enjoy Sunday School!
MEN’S MINISTRY: Our Men’s prayer group meets every Tuesday morning at 9:30 in our Sanctuary to pray together for individuals, families, events and situations. We also have a Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study on Saturday mornings at 8:30; these usually occur about every 6-8 weeks. The men cook a full and filling meal which is followed by a lesson led by the pastors.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY: RHBC Women’s Ministry exists in order to EXALT the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, to EQUIP Women through the study of God’s Word, to ENCOURAGE through meaningful relationships, to ENRICH through unique activities and events, and to EVANGELIZE through Christ-like lifestyle and verbal messages. We invite and encourage you to join us. Please call the church office for our current schedule of events.
SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY: Our senior adults are called “Prime-timers” which are age 60 and up. They meet for meals, fellowships, road trips, special programs, and just good ole fun. Each age group enjoys class fellowships on a regular basis.
YOUTH MINISTRY: Our Youth Minister plans year around activities for our youth, grades 7-12. Their discipleship program meets on Wednesday night, at 7:00 p.m. in our youth room. We have fellowships, lock-ins, summer camp, Christian concerts, trips and many other activities designed to encourage spiritual growth in our students. Our you people are important to us because they are the church of the future.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY : We have a full Children’s Church for ages 4-12 during the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service. Our Children’s Choir meets on Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m.. We also have and AWANA program for children on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.. “Approved Workman And Not Ashamed” is a discipleship program with the emphasis on the study of God’s Word, memorizing scripture, Mission awareness, and team games. We have a Children’s Minister that plans a monthly children’s activity, plus fellowships, a summer day-camp,Vacation Bible School, and much more. Our Children’s Ministry is one of the best in Fort Smith.
MUSIC MINISTRY: Music is a vital part of our worship service. Our blended worship services feature familiar hymns of the faith combined with current praise and worship selections. We have an adult choir and children’s choir. We offer opportunities for people to sing special music through solos or with small groups and ensembles. Instrumental music is also emphasized through offertory renditions and special events. Our goal is to utilize our musical talent for God’s glory, provide a blessing to those who hear and prepare our hearts to hear God’s message through the preaching of the word.
DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING: We offer several semesters of discipleship training per year. We call our sessions “Get A Grip” (Gathering, Recognizing and Identifying Problems). Courses that we offer twice a year including Parenting, Financial Freedom, Divorce Recovery, Soul- Winning, Marriage Enrichment, and various Bible Studies. The goal of these classes is to find out what the Bible says about each topic and to strengthen our family unit.
MISSIONS: Our church gives to the Co-operative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Arkansas Baptist State program, and our local association in Fort Smith. We actively serve our community by meeting needs in various ways, through pointed outreach, and food pantry Monday – Thursday. We actively pursue the lost by going and or supporting in our community and beyond. Seeking to join God where he is working!.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CONNECTION: This ministry is geared toward college students and young professionals. We are very aware of how many young adults drop out of church after high school graduation and we are trying to create a place for these young people to reconnect with God’s Word. Our goal is to provide a small group, Bible-based, support structure that teaches God’s Word and challenges young adults to move forward in their lives and see God’s perfect will. The CCC Ministry offers topical studies, tough question studies, special issue studies and studies through the books of the Bible. Come and ‘connect’ with us for study, fellowship, and fun..
CHILDCARE: Our babies and preschoolers are the ‘apple of our eyes.’ We realize how important a clean & safe nursery with a positive atmosphere is to parents. We provide secure child care for birth through three year olds during all of our scheduled services. Our goal in the nursery is to provide a safe environment for your child so you and others can worship without distractions.
WIDOW AND WIDOWER: A few years ago , we realized our church should fill this need. Included in this ministry are a visitation, transportation, and a maintenance team. We have Christians helping this group of adults with visits, notes and friendship. Others help the seniors with transportation to church or other events. We have a group of volunteers to help with small maintenance needs. Quarterly we gather to share a home cooked meal with fun and entertainment. Feel free to join us. Our get togethers are always posted in the bulletin with signup sheets in the foyer.
