The Mission Continues

KiDs Beach Club, the afterschool program where we teach the Bible at Orr Elementary, has kicked off. We had 13 kids at the first club which meets on Tuesdays. There are a great bunch of folks that make this possible each week. Thank you for what you do. We are set to serve the Orr staff on 10/17 by hosting a meal during Parent-Teacher conferences.

On Saturday, 8/3, in partnership with Westside Baptist Church we gave away over 100 backpacks filled with school supplies. Many folks gave and served in this wonderful outreach to our community. Leftover supplies were gladly received at Orr and will be given to others in need.

September 13-14 the Fellowship of Christian (FCA) Outdoor Expo was held at Kay Rodgers Park. We had a booth where we talked with individuals and gave out some 400 copies of the Book of Life and a RHBC information card.

We had our first ever Missions Fair September 15th. Booths were set up for missionaries and our active ministries. In both services the missionaries spoke to us about all that God is doing in our great country by placing the nations here at our doorsteps. We were challenged with being good stewards of this gift of
nations with the command “go to them.”

I am excited about more opportunities to present “Share Jesus Without Fear”. A four-week overview will occur on Sunday nights in October, and I will present the full course beginning in November. Consider when you would most likely attend: 1) during Sunday School; 2) Sunday afternoons at 5:00 p.m.; or 3) Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. Near the end of October, we will conduct a survey to determine the most popular time.

We are continuing our ‘Journey’ to Fort Worth the week of Thanksgiving. We will leave on Monday, return on Wednesday.

A 15 week course called Perspectives will begin in January. It addresses the call of missions to the church. By working through the Bible and the mandate to go, it will survey the history of the church, cultures, and strategies for engaging others. I appreciate all who serve and encourage.

In Christ,

Brother Scott
