The Mission Continues

It’s almost time for another school year. Our backpack give-away is set for Saturday 8/3 and will be held at Westside Baptist Church in partnership with them. Many have signed up to help with this wonderful opportunity to serve our community! “Kids Beach Club”, the after school program where we teach the Bible at Orr Elementary, is set to kick off Tuesday 9/17. On another note, the principal has asked if any of our members would like to be a mentor for a child at Orr Elementary; for details you can contact me.

In our last newsletter we shared about the journey to Fort Worth which was set to take place in June. I deem it a huge success – the Gospel was shared with many. There were members from Westside who were a part of the team. It was incredible to watch the team of folks come together in unity as they served those we encountered. The youngest was 9 and the eldest well, I won’t say but, past retirement age.

We have had more positive encounters in our “Every Home Reached” efforts as we go to our Jerusalem. We will take a break through the month of August due to the extreme heat.

World Changers were here again in June and we had the opportunity to serve a group of workers by providing lunch for them. I want to thank those who helped out in any capacity and made it a successful. World changers has at this point in time worked on 148 projects in Fort Smith, and Jesus has been shared at every one of them. This year two of the young people who came were both saved and baptized during the week.

Saturday, September 14th is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Outdoor Expo at Kay Rodgers Park. Start the day with a pancake breakfast and then spend the day viewing and participating in many activities and events, all in support of the FCA ministry here in Arkansas.

Mark your calendar for September 15th:  We are planning a unique day to allow you to learn more about the Mission and Ministry efforts that take place throughout the year at RHBC. We will have information tables set up in our foyer with missionaries and ministry personnel available to you. Plan on staying after the morning service to check things out and ask questions. It is our hope that all your questions can be answered as you seek your place to serve our Lord!

In Christ,
Brother Scott
