Welcome to a new year in Rye Hill Baptist Church Children’s Ministry! We are thankful that you are willing to share your children with us. We are excited to partner with you to help your children grow in their understanding of how much they are loved by God and help them find ways to live out a love for Him. Please contact us anytime with your thoughts, questions, and concerns. We are here to be a re-source for you and to provide your child with opportunities to grow in Jesus!
Staying Connected: Please check the Children’s Ministry section on the RHBC website (ryehill.org) to stay up to date with what is happening weekly. There you will find updates, schedules, and information about upcoming events and activities. You can also become a friend of RHBC Children’s Ministry on Facebook to see pictures and receive reminders about what is going on.
Children’s Church: We are blessed to have a wonderful rotation of teachers serving n Children’s Church. These teachers will meet your children in the gym be-fore the 10:30 worship service. We will be taking the children in the sanctuary for the beginning of the worship service. We do this so the children can see what goes on in big church, so they learn how to act in church, and so the adults in church can see how awesome our children are. After the song service, the children will re-turn to the children’s department for their own lesson. You may pick up your child in the gym after the church service.
We will be using Lifeway’s “The Gospel Project for Kids” during Children’s Church. The “Gospel Project for Kids” is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study re-source that looks at the big picture of God’s story; the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events, all the while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We will begin with “In The Beginning”. “In the Beginning” helps kids discover how God’s plan to rescue people through Jesus began. God created everything including people in His own image. Even though Adam and Eve sinned, God revealed His plan to bring people back to Himself through the family of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Sessions include Bible stories from Genesis and Job.
Sunday Evening: We are excited about our Sunday evenings with the children. We really have a heart for disciplining the children and believe the Gospel should be shared every single time you leave your children with us. We believe that this discipleship should being in a small group. We will offer a children’s small group (GROW) several times throughout the year.
5:00 GROW (Go, Read, Obey, Witness): Taken from 2 Peter 3:18 (Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ), we believe that small group discipleship is important key in GROWing in Christ. We will begin January 20th at 5:00pm working through the book “Survival Kit for New Christians”.
Please sign up by January 16th. Sign-ups will be on the bulletin board in the RHBC Kids area. This class will run from January 20th – March 3rd.
5:00 Children’s Choir: We understand that not every child wants to be part of Children’s Choir and that is ok. When we are not offering a GROW class, we will have choir practice. Make plans to join us! We will begin working on an Easter Musical March 10th at 5:00pm.
6:00 Kid Konnections: We are excited about using this hour to connect kids to Christ through every day life. Using objects kids can relate to (slime, candy, emo-jis, pets), we will explain how God can use them to remind us of important Biblical truths. All games and activities will relate back to the topic covered that night.
We are blessed to have many amazing volunteers that help Awana to run smooth each week. We will be sending home a calendar for the rest of the Awana year. Each week, your child will be asked to dress for a theme or bring an item to be collected for missions. Club points will be awarded for attendance, Bible, dues (50 cents), uniform, dressing up, and bringing a friend. These points will be used in the Awana store twice a semester. On January, 16th, your child will be given an M&M tube. This tube will hold $14 in quarters. Help your child think of ways they can earn quarters throughout the semester. The quarters will be collected and used in the end of the year mission project.
These are exciting times at Rye Hill Baptist Church. Thank you for trusting us with your child. Thank you bringing your child to church. Thank you for always helping out when we need you. Please let us know if we can do anything for you, your child, or your family!
We love you all!
