Wow! What an incredible year we have had since moving into our new Sanctuary and remodeling the old one. God has so blessed us that we can testify that Rye Hill Baptist Church has had the best year ever in the history of our church! We have seen God’s Holy Spirit and His holy power help us set records in baptisms and church letters as well as Sunday School and Worship attendance. In Sunday School we had a high attendance of 309 on September 9. We are plus 30 in attendance in Sunday School this past year. We are plus 55 in average Worship attendance since we moved into our new Sanctuary last November. Our high attendance was 638 on Easter Sunday. We had 529 on Mother’s Day. And we had 474 on August 26 which was a regular Sunday Worship Service. Our overall highest attendance of any service was in September when we had over 800 people for the Celebrate the Gift music concert. Praise the Lord! God blessed us with 31 baptisms so far this year, 18 additions by statement, and 63 additions through transfer of church letter. That means 112 people have joined our church in the last 13 months! That is amazing! To God be the glory, great things HE has done! We have truly been in revival these last 13 months. Another exciting blessing is that we have been able to pay $445,000.00 on our loan principal because of your faithfulness in giving! I still believe that with God’s help we are going to be able to pay off our building loan within the initial five years of our guaranteed interest rate. We are literally saving thousands of dollars in interest every time we pay on our loan principal.

God hasn’t told me what exactly He is up to yet, but it is obvious that He has BIG future plans for our church because of all He is doing. Our focus is to just stay in the center of God’s perfect will for our church and to just keep doing what He has shown us to do from His Holy Word. God’s timing, God’s wisdom, and God’s guidance will let us know what He has for us when the time comes. All I know is that I cannot wait for Sunday each week and I look forward to working and serving our Lord each and every day God allows me to serve Him. My prayer is that we continue inviting friends, family, neighbors, and work associates to our church to worship with us. I am also praying that we will keep knocking on doors and inviting people (prospects) in our Jerusalem (neighborhood) to our church. We must continue to emphasize the five keys to church growth in the life of our church – Worship, Discipleship, Outreach, Missions, Fellowship – in order to see God’s blessings in our lives and see His church grow!

We really want to thank you for being such a friendly church and making our guests feel so welcome each and every service. My heart is so full of pure joy when our guests share with me their testimony of feeling loved and accepted the very first time they come to our Worship Services. I also thank God that so many Sunday School teachers and members invite our guests to our Sunday School Discipleship classes. Our classes are small group time where great Bible teaching is done; plus they minister to people’s needs in a vibrant way. A strong Sunday School program goes hand in hand with a strong spiritually sound church. My prayer is that if you are not attending Sunday School at this time you will prayerfully consider it very soon. I promise you that you will be glad you did; you will grow more in the Lord and you will get to know some really neat Christian people in a personal way!

Because of the Holiday Season, we will not begin our Men’s Bible Study Fellowship until January 12, 2019. We will begin a new Bible Study entitled “Man In the Mirror.” Bro. Steve and I are very excited about this new series so let everyone know about our new date. We greatly appreciate you inviting so many guests to be a part of our Men’s Ministry.
We are very excited about our 12th Annual Spring Bible Conference April 7-10, 2019. Dr. Dale Thompson has agreed to preach our Bible Conference that week. Dr. Dale is a wonderful friend and great Bible teacher who has been preaching the Word of God for many years. His wisdom and experiences in life will truly be a huge blessing to our church and our community. When I was so sick with pneumonia in 2017 every Sunday I couldn’t go to church I listened and watched him preach. His love for God’s Word, his gift of application, and his insight on scripture really blessed my heart. Please write down the dates and do not let anything get in the way of being there each and every service!
I realize that the Holiday Season is a very busy time in the life of our church and our personal lives. Let us not get so caught up in this time of the year that we forget the true meaning of Christmas – Jesus. He truly is the Reason for the season! People are hurting and some are lonely, so please look around and see what you can do to make someone’s holiday season an encouraging and joyful occasion. May God bless you and may the love of God and His many blessings give you an attitude of gratitude. I love each and every one of you and pray nothing but the best for you and you family. Merry Christmas!

In Christ, Michael Franklin
