It is with pure joy and extreme gratitude that we write to you this month! I shared last December that we could possibly have our greatest year ever and God is truly doing his part to make our hearts’ desire come true. We have had our best spring ever in the history of our church. On Easter Sunday God blessed us with 638 in attendance. This would not have happened if we had not stepped out on faith and built our new sanctuary for God’s glory. Our Bible Conference was a huge success with record crowds and a Tuesday night attendance of 436! Praise the Lord! Our Mother’s Day attendance set another record with 529 in Worship. This past Sunday, in our Body Life Meeting, we voted to transfer $100,000.00 from our General Budget to pay on our loan principal. We set a monthly record with offerings of $103,842.14 in April. This means that in the first six months of our building loan we have paid a total of $270,000.00 extra toward the principal. To God be the glory, great things He has done through our faithful, giving people! We have been experiencing a true spiritual awakening and revival in our church.
Every week our Praise Team is doing an outstanding job taking us to the throne of God in praise and worship. Every week God is touching hearts and we have seen 49 additions to our church through baptism or church letter transfer since January 1, 2018. What an awesome God we serve! We are having a great number of families visiting with us because you are inviting them to come and worship with us. Let’s continue to contact all of the church visitors and Sunday School absentees to let them know that we care. Let’s also keep looking within our circle of influence through family members, friends, neighbors, and work associates for prospects or people not attending church.
The remodeling of our old sanctuary is going well and on time with one small issue. We had to order a special door with a panic bar on it and it will probably delay completion a couple of weeks. We are hoping to be able to start meeting in our newly remodeled Sunday School classrooms on June 17th. We cannot tell you how excited we are to be able to provide more Sunday School space so all of our classes will have room to grow. A healthy sign of a growing church is a strong Sunday School program. We thank God for all the wonderful Sunday School teachers He has blessed us with. It is our small-group time in which we study God’s Holy Word together and minister to one another in a personal way. If you are not attending a Sunday School class, please prayerfully consider attending one soon. We truly believe it will help you grow as a Christian and better connect to the life of our church.
We are excited about our upcoming Mission Trip, June 3rd-8th, to The Fountains in Fort Worth, TX. We have an opportunity to host two Vacation Bible Schools this year. This is awesome because we will see even more children under the sound of the gospel. Thank you, Jesus! This does present a greater challenge to our Mission Team. However, you have always risen to the occasion and helped us meet the ministry needs. Bro. Scott has shared with me that with two Bible Schools, we could use some more people to help us have a good worker-student ratio. Would you please prayerfully consider going to help minister to children and parents that need the Lord and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? We promise you that a Mission Trip like this will change your life and perspective about unreached people groups. Please let Bro. Scott know as soon as possible that you want to go and help with this wonderful Mission Journey in the life of our church. You can also help by signing up to bring snacks and other items that will help us be more effective in ministry that week. We still believe one of the reasons God is blessing our church is because of our Missions and Outreach Ministries. Please pray for our Missions Team so that many will come to know Jesus Christ that week.
We are continuing to knock on doors in our Jerusalem (Riley Farms and our surrounding areas) to look for new prospects in our outreach program called “Every Home Reached.” We have been visiting on Saturdays and have noticed that many people are not home or are busy that day. With warmer weather and longer daylight hours we are asking teams of two to prayerfully consider going out one night a week. You can come by the church during regular hours (8 AM – 4 PM. Monday through Thursday) to pick up some prospect worksheets. You can visit at your convenience. We have already seen two families start attending our church. Our motive is to fulfill the “Great Commission” by knocking on every door in our neighborhood, to invite them to church, and to engage them in a gospel conversation. The Bible tells us: “Now is the time, today is the day of salvation.” Just see Bro. Chuck or Bro. Scott and they will help you get started on our Outreach Ministry journey.
We are very excited about what God is doing at Rye Hill Baptist Church. Our prayer is that we will not let summer get in our way of true ministry. Yes, everyone needs a vacation, but our prayer is that you will continue to be faithful to God and His church these summer months. We thank God for you and the strong prayer support we feel every day of our lives. We thank God for your generosity in giving to His work and ministries. We thank God that we continue to see His mighty hand working in the life of our church to make us an Acts 2 New Testament Church for His glory. I thank God for His call to the ministry and to be able to serve Him with such a caring and loving church family! I love every one of you. I count it an honor to be your Senior Pastor.
May God bless you and your family.
