Frankly Speaking

Dear Church Member,
We cannot thank God enough for allowing us to have such a beautiful new sanctuary with plenty of room to grow and to worship in every Sunday. Everyone that attends our services for the first time shares with us how much they like it and how blessed we are as a church. God is also blessing us financially because of your faithfulness in giving. Last month we transferred $60,000 from the Growth Fund and this month we will transfer $50,000 to pay toward our loan principal. That means in the last three months we will have transferred a total of $110,000 to reduce our loan – Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! I truly believe with all my heart that we will be able to pay off our building mortgage in five years. That money is above and beyond the three payments we have made out of budget! To God be the glory, great things HE has done!

Another huge praise is the percentage of people that attend Sunday School (small group time) compared to our worship attendance. The past two weeks our Sunday School participation averaged 80% of our worship attendance! That is amazing! It is truly the best percentage I have ever seen for a church our size. We do have some awesome teachers and caring classes that really take care of one another. If you haven’t tried Sunday School, now would be a great time to start. Sunday School begins at 9:15 AM and we will help you find a class of your choice. You will learn more about growing in the Lord as you study the Bible.

Our next Widow/Widowers Luncheon is this Thursday, March 1st, in the Reception Room of our Family Life Center. Mary will be serving chicken spaghetti, lasagna and all the trimmings for your enjoyment. We also have a really neat surprise for you. We hope to see you there. Please encourage other widows and widowers to attend.

Do not forget that we need EVERYONE to help us March 8th-10th with our Community Focus Ministry. We need everyone to bring new or good used clothing so we will have plenty to give away that Saturday. We want to have an emphasis on donations of baby/children’s items and clothing. We will need people to help us set up tables Wednesday night March 7th and help us organize items on Thursday and Friday in order to be ready to go by Saturday morning March 10th at 9:00 AM. Other ways to help with this ministry are to donate money to our Food Bank, non-perishable food items, clothes, or time and labor to help us set up. Workers are needed to help Saturday. There will be another meeting on Sunday, March 4th after the morning service. We will need at least 60 volunteers to help make this ministry run smoothly. Please prayerfully consider helping out that weekend. You always come through and it will be a blast working together while touching the lives of so many families in the River Valley.

You do not want to miss the Gospel-Fest Quartet concert on Sunday night, March 11th, at 6:00 PM in our sanctuary. They are one of the best quartets in the State of Arkansas. You will be blessed with the spirit and energy they have. Be sure to invite family, friends, neighbors, and work associates to join you that special night.

Our 11th Annual Bible Conference will be here before you know it. Dr. Kemp Holden will be preaching his “Prophecy Conference” in every service. Save the dates of April 22nd-25th, 2018 and do not miss a service. Be sure to invite people to join us because Dr. Holden is a gifted communicator, will teach us updated signs of the times and Jesus’ return. I cannot wait for this year’s Revival. My spirit has already told me that is going to be an extra special time in the Lord. I hope you will pray for a mighty movement of God in our church and the River Valley!

Lori and I want to thank everyone for the sweet cards, kind words, and especially the Gideon Bibles donated in her dad’s name. Your thoughts and prayers have touched our lives in a difficult time. Just knowing of the spiritual support makes it a blessing to be part of such a caring and loving people. We love and appreciate everyone! A big “thanks” goes to Bro. Thurman who preached Sunday morning in my absence and did a great job. We are so blessed with several gifted preachers in our church.

Please continue to pray for the church secretary, Carla. She is out of the hospital and now in rehab. She is improving but has a lengthy recovery period. Please pray for her husband as this has been a real challenge for him too. We hope she’ll be home soon and back in church worshipping with us again.

Thank you for your daily prayers for me and our church staff. We love what God allows us to do and count it an honor to work at Rye Hill Baptist Church. You will never truly know this side of heaven how much you bless and encourage us in the faith with your prayer support. Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus, our face in His Word, and our feet in our Jerusalem. There is still a lost world out there that needs Jesus and a place (church) to belong. May God bless you and your family as we continue to serve Him with all of our heart, mind, soul, and body!

In Christ,

Michael Franklin
