Frankly Speaking

Dear Church Member,
It is with great excitement that we write this months newsletter article. Everywhere I go lately people are asking, what is going on at Rye Hill Baptist Church? They see the construction going on at the church so we tell them that God is allowing us to build a 775 seat Sanctuary for His glory! We truly want it to be a testimony of God’s goodness and grace. The steel work has begun which makes us even more excited about the progress we see each week, plus for the month of February we have received $8,850.00 toward the Building Fund. Thank you Jesus! God is blessing us with such a mild winter, which has really kept the building project right on time. Praise the Lord! A second question I often get asked, is what is making the difference in God blessing our church and it growing so much? The answer is the Spirit of God has been here in a mighty way. I have had visitors tell me as soon as they walk through the doors of the church they sense something different in our church. We do have a friendly and loving church. We do have a great Outreach Ministry and Pastoral Ministry. Our Music Ministry is outstanding and the Praise Team is amazing, our Sunday School (small group time) is growing and we have some awesome teachers. But the bottom line is that God’s Holy Spirit is here and His presence in the life of the church is truly making an impact on our church. Every week we have visitors because most of the time our people have personally invited them to church! Hallelujah! Our whole motive for building a new Worship Center is to reach more people with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to fill it up for His glory! You all are doing such a great job of inviting and engaging people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We really believe that the sky is the limit if we will just keep God and Jesus first and foremost in the life of our Church, and just keep reaching out to people with the love of Christ in us.

Our Widow/Widower Ministry is in full force now and going really well. We had a Valentine Themed Banquet with nineteen of our Widows and Widowers present. We also had a super meeting with most of our ministry volunteers filling up the reception room several weeks ago. We want our Widows and Widowers to know that we love them and are ready to serve them in any way we can. We are only a phone call away and I promise you that you are not bothering us. All of our volunteers have signed up to serve. We are blessed with such loving and giving people in this wonderful new ministry!

We have just received a 2016 report from the desk of Dr. Sonny Tucker and the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. We are so proud to let you know what we did as a church in giving to the Cooperative Program and Missions in 2016. Because of your generosity, our total giving to these two wonderful causes was, $45,545.15. Wow! That is totally awesome for a church our size. From the bottom of our hearts, “THANK YOU” for a job well done. Here are just a few things that God has done in Arkansas through your generous giving. The Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) mobilized 984 students for missions in 47 countries and 29 states. We started 40 new churches, which baptized 391 people last year. Pregnancy Care Centers saved 525 babies from abortion and reported 200 professions of faith. 591 ABSC Disaster Relief Volunteers responded to 12 disasters and made 1680 ministry contacts. 9,900 missionaries were actively sharing Christ around the world because of our giving. What an amazing investment in the Kingdom of God! God is so good, ALL the time!

It is time to really start gearing up for our 10th Annual Bible Conference. The dates of the Bible Conference are April 2-5, 2017. Please mark it on your calendar and do not let anything get in your way of full support for this 10th anniversary of our Spring Revival. God has blessed us with some of the best preachers from around this area speaking at this years Bible Conference. It will be very important for all of us to get on board and support it 100%. Our theme for the week is “Invite and Engage” and our theme verse is Luke 14:23. “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in that my house may be full.” Please mark these two special dates down where we need your help. On Saturday, March 25, we will have a special Revival Outreach at 10:30a.m. at the church. We need your help in this special outreach visitation. Also on Thursday, March 30, we will have a special Prayer Vigil for true Revival in the life of our church. We will be asking everyone to sign-up for a 30 minute prayer time from 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. that day. We will not see true revival without a serious commitment to God in prayer. A prayer time slot sign-up sheet will be available this coming Sunday. Let’s do our best to have every time filled for God’s Glory! Please begin praying daily for true revival in the life of our church. We really want this 10th year to be our best year ever!

Men don’t forget our Men’s Breakfast and Bible Study on Saturday, March 4, at 8:30 a.m. We have moved it to the gym so we can be less crowded and have room to grow. We had 48 men present last month, so please continue to invite friends to join you for this important Men’s Ministry Fellowship and Bible Study. Our lesson this month is titled, “The Discipline of Prayer,” which is an extremely important lesson for us all. We hope to see you there.

We have had a ton of sickness these past few weeks so we are praying that everyone will get well and be back in our services soon. May God bless you all with good health, and we hope to see you Sunday in God’s House with God’s People. I love each and everyone of you and thank God to be the Pastor of such an awesome people and church.

In Christ,
Michael Franklin
